The second editions of the Euro-China Smart & Green City Awards, will take place in Shenzhen, China from the 9th to the 11th of December 2016. This event is organized by The China Center for Urban Development and the Foundation Prospective et Innovation, established under French law as a non-profit association and chaired by Mr. Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former French Prime Minister. The European Commission also supports the event. It will reward European and Chinese cities together for their achievements in building a sustainable city.
80 European and Chinese cities will be expected together during this 3 days’ event. This forum will be the showcase for the whole value chain of innovation to promote the best technological and governance solutions. It is an official event on the agenda of the Sino-European cooperation in the field of urbanization, putting forward the fundamental role of urban areas in the fight against climate change.
With more than 70 cities of more than 1 million inhabitants and 300 million new inhabitants forecasted in urban area at the horizon 2025, the development of Chinese cities takes into account sustainable perspectives.
This event will offer the unique opportunity to meet the Chinese and European cities the most committed to sustainable development, to exchange with the local decision-makers, to put forward complementarities between public and private actors in the deployment of sustainable urban innovations, to present the best know-how stemming from European programs and to meet extremely dynamic Chinese investors in the European market.
